Bridging their beginnings with what was to come, White Pony placated the hardened metalheads with ripping ragers like "Feiticeira," "Street Carp," and the Grammy-winning "Elite," while expanding their horizons with the midtempo lurch of "Rx Queen" (featuring an uncredited Scott Weiland on vocals) and the haunted haze of "Digital Bath." Whether loud or soft, violent or tender, each track on White Pony serves melody and mood in droves, resulting in the kind of album that is instantly recognizable as a conscious leveling-up. The result was an artistic breakthrough, one that not only signaled a new direction for the band but also - for better or worse - cemented itself as arguably their finest work. Taking steps away from the hip-hop swagger, rote riffs, and unpolished youthfulness of their early work, the band delved into their sonic toy chest, experimenting with atmosphere and effects, tightening their songcraft, and boosting Chino Moreno's pure singing vocals. VISIONARIES, TRAILBLAZERS, OUTLAWS, SONIC ASTRONAUTS, WITCHES, WIZARDS, SLUDGELORDS, VIXENS, NOISE MONGERS, GENIUSES & BEAUTIFUL WEIRDOS that you should hear before you die.Vaulting from genre favorites to the big leagues, Californian alt-metal outfit Deftones went from being the cool kid's nu-metal band of choice to a mainstream force with their seminal third album, White Pony.Great music, Weird Music, Important Music.seen live (as still adding old concerts).Bands/Artists I have listen every album of.Aural Live Experience: A Musical Biography In Live Concerts.

Artists from my record collection that I've seen live.So the short version of this ramble is yeah good album lol It feels like a fluid album that is not forced or contrived and as much as i love death metal and grindcore etc i love a band that does what it feels is right. So i came and wrote this because i let the new album sit with me for a while and it passed the test. what is important is the band rocks ! "Koi No Yokan" shows a band that can write new music that is entertaining and diverse (not a rehash of old albums) and i really feel like the band gets a bit better with every album they release. I don't know what the hell to call them at this point nor do i really care. What we have now a days is a band that has evolved and grown into an impressive example of good Genre defying Metal band. they don't write songs like 7 words anymore, but that is fine. I consider the band to be on the softer side of metal nowadays. (my all time favorite album of theirs) overall since then i think they are good but I'll fast forward to their 2012 release "Koi No Yokan". i was loving that then When "Around The Fur" came out i was hooked from that point. My perspective on this band comes from hearing "7 Words" from the '95 album Adrenaline.
